Decorate with Digital Art
Many fine artists are discovering the exciting possibilities of digital media and are using them to create new, highly original works. At first, some collectors feared that painting would be replaced by this new artform, but those concerns are proving groundless. In the past, many people opposed acrylic paints because they believed that the richness of oils would be lost. This did not happen. Artists paint one type of picture with oils and a different type with acrylics. Each medium has its own strengths and weaknesses. The same is true of digital art. Digital works, created with fractal generators or in programs as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, are completely different from conventional paintings. Their colors and textures have a unique look and feel. When you purchase a digital painting, you probably will have choices to make. These choices involve you in the creative process. The artist creates digital files, and they can be printed on a variety of surfaces in a number of different sizes. You can choose to have a digital painting printed as small as 9 x 11 or as large as 30" x 40". You can have it printed on light-weight glossy paper and mounted on foam board, or on heavier stock with either a glossy or matt surface. Many services also offer prints on real canvas. Digital works are available in a dizzying variety of styles and subjects. Current printers offer archival inks and papers. Someday, you will be able to order digital works through your local gallery or frameshop, but you don't have to wait. Check out the offerings at such sites as Art.com, Artist Rising, Zazzle, Redbubble, and Imagekind.
